Fog, Snow, Closed Roads: The Situation in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed roads across the territory of Armenia.

Closed are the roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to Amberd Fortress and the Stone Lake.

There are spots of black ice on roads in Syunik Province.

Snow is currently falling in the cities of Goris, Kapan, Vanadzor, Spitak, Stepanavan, Gavar, as well as in the Dilijan zigzags and a section referred to as "Meghri Mountain."

Fog is reported in the Vardenyats Pass, in the area called Saravan-Zanger, in the Dilijan zigzags, and in the highland areas of Aragatsotn, Ararat, and Syunik Provinces. It is also present on the roads leading to the city of Jermuk, in Yegh-eghegnadzor city, in Areni village, and on the Malishka-Chiva and Lanjik-Mastara roads.

Regarding the Lars issue, according to information received from the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
