Elon Musk is Searching for a Successor for Twitter's CEO Position
The owner and CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk, is looking for a new CEO for the company. This was reported by CNBC on December 20, citing sources from reporter David Farber.
Musk had previously stated that his tenure as the social media platform's CEO would be temporary. In November, the billionaire mentioned that he expects to find someone else to lead Twitter over time.
However, this past Sunday, December 18, Musk tweeted that he has "no successor". "This isn't about finding a CEO. It's about finding a CEO who can keep Twitter alive," he wrote.
On December 18, Musk conducted a poll among Twitter users, inviting them to decide whether he should remain as the company's CEO or step down. Starting the vote, he promised to abide by the majority’s opinion. Over half of the 17.5 million participants voted in favor of the businessman stepping down from the leadership role.
CNBC asserts that Musk had been actively searching for a new CEO for Twitter even before the poll was published.
