Business in the Past Was Incredibly Difficult: Vahan Kerebeyan
“It was not better in the past; as a businessman, I can say that doing business back then was incredibly difficult,” said Vahan Kerebeyan, the Minister of Economy, during an interview on Free Radio. He addressed the claim that “people lived better in the past.”
“I still see many flourishing businesses that started after 2018. It was only after the change of government and the reduction of corruption that people embarked on entrepreneurial activities,” he stated.
Kerebeyan emphasized that he faced tax persecution regarding his own business. “Laws were even created to shut down my business. I can specify what laws—specifically the introduction of value-added tax on delivered food, which caused us to live in a nightmare for six months. Then, we managed to change that law during Karen Karapetyan's time,” he explained.
