VIDEO: The Road from Martakert to Karvachar Closed to Azerbaijanis Since December 12

Life in the Martakert region is proceeding in a normal manner on the 8th day of the blockade. This was noted by Arsen Avanesyan, head of the Martakert regional administration. He refuted reports that they had closed the road for Azerbaijani vehicles on Saturday and Sunday, stating, “That road has been closed to Azerbaijanis since December 12 and will remain so until the only road vital for life in Artsakh is reopened. While there is a shortage of certain goods in the region, overall, the situation is normal, there is no cause for panic, and things are calm. In accordance with the rules, after discussions with the operational headquarters, everything necessary to meet the needs of the region is being provided promptly,” he said.

In the Askeran region, there is also no shortage of certain products, but the reserves in warehouses are dwindling. Hamlet Apresyan, head of the Askeran regional administration, mentioned that there are 15 families from their region currently in Goris. “We keep in touch with them. There is one child who participated in Eurovision and is now in Armenia without a parent. The others are with their parents,” he added.
