Putin Proposes Free Land for Soldiers Noted in Ukraine War in Moscow Region and Crimea

Russian President Vladimir Putin has recommended allocating free plots of land in the Moscow region, Crimea, and Sevastopol to military personnel distinguished in military operations in Ukraine. This was reported by RTVI.

The relevant decree was published on the official legal information portal on December 19. According to the document, local authorities in the three regions are advised to adopt legislative acts that define the right of citizens to receive free land plots. The initiative is justified by the necessity of providing social support to military personnel and their family members.

If the authorities of the Moscow region, Crimea, and Sevastopol give a positive decision, the following participants in military operations will be able to claim free land plots: military personnel, employees of federal executive bodies, federal state bodies where military service is conducted, and combat veterans who have been awarded state prizes and departmental insignia for their merits in battles in Ukraine.

Additionally, the proposal includes providing land plots to family members of servicemen who died as a result of injuries or illness sustained during combat operations. The draft of this presidential decree was presented by the Ministry of Defense at the beginning of September.
