EU Countries Reach Agreement on Gas Price Cap
EU countries have reached an agreement on a price cap for gas. This was reported by Дождь. Energy ministers from European Union countries have agreed to limit the gas price to 180 euros per megawatt-hour, Reuters reported, citing a Czech representative.
The negotiations on the innovation lasted for weeks, according to the agency. The restriction will come into force on February 15. Initially, according to the agency, the cap will not apply to over-the-counter transactions.
It was previously announced that the European Union has approved a price cap on Russian oil at $60. The G7 countries and Australia have endorsed this. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow would not accept the price cap on its oil.
