Protest in Berlin in Solidarity with Artsakh
A group of activists held a protest in Berlin to express solidarity with Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), which has been blockaded by Azerbaijani authorities under the pretext of "environmental protests," creating a humanitarian disaster, the statement read.
It should be noted that for a week now, Azerbaijan has closed the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia.
Since 10:30 AM on December 12, the connection from the villages of Lisagor, Metsi Shen, Hin Shen, and Yeghdzahogh in the Shushi region to the capital Stepanakert has been interrupted. A group of Azerbaijanis in civilian clothes again blocked the Stepanakert-Goris highway, citing environmental reasons.
On December 13, the Azerbaijani side also cut off gas supplies to Artsakh.
Led by Artsakh's state minister Ruben Vardanyan, an operational headquarters has been established, which will operate 24 hours a day for the coordination of efforts in response to the situation created by the blockage of the road linking Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Starting from December 14, protests have begun near various institutions and embassies in Armenia.
Furthermore, at a government meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Azerbaijan is continuously implementing a policy of “a Nagorno-Karabakh without Armenians,” and that the Armenian side must do everything necessary for this policy to receive proper international assessment.
On the morning of December 16, the head of the Artsakh government announced that gas supplies to Artsakh had been restored.
