VIDEO: Children from Artsakh Hold Protest Outside UN Office

Lilit T.

Children remaining in Yerevan due to the blockade of Artsakh have organized a unique event in front of the UN Office in Armenia, expressing their emotions in a creative way. This also serves as a protest to showcase the feelings of children caught in this situation.

It is worth noting that for over a week, Azerbaijan has blocked the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia.

As of December 12, at 10:30 AM, the connection between the villages of Lisagor, Mets Shen, Hin Shen, and Yeghkhahogh in the Shushi region with the capital Stepanakert has been cut off. A group of Azerbaijanis, dressed in civilian clothes, has again closed the Stepanakert-Goris highway under the pretext of environmental concerns.

On December 13, the Azerbaijani side also halted gas supplies to Artsakh.

Under the leadership of Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan, an operational headquarters has been established that will operate around the clock to coordinate efforts in response to the situation created by the blockade of the road connecting Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Starting December 14, protests have begun near various organizations’ offices and embassies in Armenia.

Additionally, during a government meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Azerbaijan continues to implement a policy of “Nagorno-Karabakh without Armenians,” and that the Armenian side must do everything possible for this policy to receive proper international assessment.

On the morning of December 16, the Artsakh State Minister announced that gas supplies to Artsakh have been restored.
