Urgent Opening of the Lachin Corridor: Co-Rapporteurs of PACE Ready to Undertake Fact-Finding Mission

In a joint statement, four co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Armenia and Azerbaijan have emphasized the urgent need to restore freedom and safety of movement for people and goods through the Lachin Corridor, as reported by Azatutyun.

The co-rapporteurs are calling on all parties involved in the November 9 trilateral declaration to take immediate action in this direction.

Representatives from the United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden, and Finland met with EU Special Representative Toivo Klaar and French co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Brice Roquefeuil, stating: “We reaffirm our readiness to provide the necessary political support, including through undertaking a fact-finding mission in the region.”

According to the co-rapporteurs, the disruption of free movement in the Lachin Corridor is causing significant difficulties for the population.
