There Are Facts That the Activism of Azerbaijani 'Environmentalists' is Fabricated: Armenian Human Rights Defender
Azerbaijani 'environmentalists' activism is fabricated, and there are facts that this is organized and carried out by the Azerbaijani authorities. This was stated by Armenia's Human Rights Defender Kristine Grigoryan during a press conference with journalists.
It is noteworthy that the Human Rights Defender of Armenia and the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh presented a joint report on the humanitarian consequences of the closure of the only road connecting Artsakh with Armenia and the world.
“The preparation of the report was swift, and the rapid presentation of facts to the international community has had and will continue to have a significant effect. The events that took place from December 12 to 15 are included in the report. We communicated with international organizations and diplomatic missions on the same day, which has contributed to increasing international pressure on the state, and it was very important to do this as soon as possible,” Grigoryan said.
Facts have also been presented regarding the ongoing violations of individual rights. According to Grigoryan, they continue to carry out fact-finding work.
Remember that on the morning of December 12, a group of Azerbaijanis in civilian clothing closed the Stepanakert-Goris highway, which connects Artsakh to Armenia, under the guise of environmental reasons at the intersection near Shushi-Karin Tak. The same happened on December 3. After more than three hours of negotiations with Russian peacekeepers, the road was reopened in both directions.
Since December 13, the Azerbaijani side has also cut off gas supply to Artsakh. People were deprived of heating, hot water, and healthcare facilities could not provide primary medical assistance; educational institutions in Artsakh, heated by gas, have halted their classes.
This morning, Artsakh's State Minister Ruben Vardanyan announced that gas supply to Artsakh has been restored, and this has been done without any preconditions.
