Sisian Mayor Resigns
The newly elected mayor of Sisian, Armen Hakobjanian, has resigned. According to media reports, the aim of Hakobjanian's resignation is to hold new elections.
The community's press secretary noted that a temporary acting official must be appointed before the extraordinary elections take place.
It is worth mentioning that on October 12, during the first session of the newly elected council of Sisian, in the second round of mayoral elections, Armen Hakobjanian, a candidate from the 'Civil Contract' party, was elected as the community leader. However, Hakobjanian was unable to assume his responsibilities as 11 out of 21 council members had resigned from their mandates, making it impossible to convene a council meeting.
