Package Bomb Explodes in Assassination Attempt on Head of 'Rossotrudnichestvo'
An assassination attempt has been made against Dmitry Siti, the head of 'Rossotrudnichestvo' in the Central African Republic. He had previously reported to local police. This was confirmed by Benvenyu Zokuen, the head of the Central African Republic’s police, to RIA Novosti.
Following the assassination attempt on Friday morning, Siti was hospitalized in Bangui. A package that had been sent to him exploded.
Zokuen indicated that Siti had received a threatening package earlier. The Russian diplomatic mission in the Central African Republic highlighted that the head of the 'Russian House' lives outside the embassy premises and received the package through an international delivery service.
The explosion occurred at his home; he lives outside the embassy. He went to collect the package, presumably from DHL, brought it home, and opened it himself,” an agency source said.
