Two Women Die in Accident Involving Brothers' Cars: Details of the Tragic Crash
A fatal car accident occurred on December 19 at around 12:50 PM near the village of Shatjrek on the Shatjrek-Vardenis highway, resulting in the death of the wives of the drivers involved. This was reported to News.am by Zoya Gevorgyan, the administrative head of the village.
The drivers of the colliding vehicles, an Opel Astra and a VAZ 21099, are brothers: 33-year-old Vardan Iskoyan and 37-year-old Andok Iskoyan. Gevorgyan explained that their wives, 24-year-old Yeranuhi Abrahamyan and 33-year-old Melina Gevorgyan, had come from Vardenis to join the Iskoyan family.
On the day of the accident, only the children of one of the brothers were in the car; one of the children is in serious condition and remains hospitalized, while the other has been discharged.
“They were an ordinary family, peaceful and quiet, hard-working. They lived separately but were neighbors,” the administrative head added.
A criminal case has been initiated by the Vardenis investigative department regarding the accident.
