Newly Appointed Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Bans Military Patriotic Activities in Schools

The newly appointed Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia has instructed to ban all types of military patriotic activities and educational events in schools, reports the 'Jirank' newspaper.

The newspaper has obtained a circular in which the minister instructs the Deputy Mayor of Yerevan and the heads of all regional administrations of Armenia to avoid militarizing schools.

"More simply put, this means refusing to collaborate with military organizations such as the 'Commandos Military Sports Club', the 'Zark' program, 'Little Mher', and the patriotic public organization 'OMAH' (the Art of Survival), among others. Zhanna Andreasyan signed the aforementioned circular while she was still the deputy minister," the newspaper writes.

This means that, in schools, apart from the 'Initial Military Training' subject, students will no longer be able to participate in other military patriotic programs and courses.

The newspaper states that this reflects the behavior and style of the governing force: the farther from patriotism, the better.

It is reminded that on December 12, Minister Vahram Dumanyan submitted his resignation, and on December 13, it became known that he was replaced by Zhanna Andreasyan, the former deputy minister.
