Hungary: Kyiv Should Join the European Union as Soon as Possible

Budapest hopes that Kyiv will join the European Union as soon as possible. This statement was made by Balázs Orbán, an advisor to the Prime Minister of Hungary, who simultaneously noted that the republic does not intend to abandon relations with Russia. This was reported by Kp.ru.

“We hope this will happen as soon as possible. Member states should pressure the European Commission to expedite this process,” Orbán's words were quoted by Bloomberg.

The advisor to the head of the Hungarian government stated that Budapest does not plan to sever ties with Moscow. “Hungary's position is based on the idea of maintaining connections. So, we should not separate from each other,” he said.

It should be noted that the lengthy process of joining the European Union is due to the fact that the candidate country must seriously reform its legislation in all sectors to comply with the European 'common declaration.'
