The Mask of Environmentalists Ripped Off: What They Demand and What Their True Purpose Is
The so-called Azerbaijani "environmentalist" protesters are sharply changing their demands, shifting into the political sphere. Their latest demand is that the Lachin road must come under Azerbaijani control, according to Azerbaijani media.
On the third day of protests against the alleged plundering of natural resources in areas under the control of Russian peacekeepers, Azerbaijani provocateurs, who refer to themselves as activists, have closed the vital road connecting Artsakh to the outside world, creating a humanitarian disaster.
Today, their demands have transformed. They are no longer asking for a meeting with the commander of the peacekeepers, General Volkov, but instead, they are insisting on the full control of the Lachin-Stepanakert road by Baku.
The Azerbaijani provocateurs declare they are determined not to allow the exploitation of the Lachin road in its previous format and will continue their actions until the road is under Baku's control.
Aliyev's agents have suddenly begun to "worry" for the Armenian population of Artsakh. They state: "Currently, Araik Harutyunyan and Ruben Vardanyan want to establish a new dictatorship in Artsakh and implement a program to enslave the local population. However, the Azerbaijani public will not allow the implementation of the authoritarian plans of the Harutyunyan-Vardanyan tandem."
It is clear that the provocation taking place on the vital road of Artsakh is yet another tactic in Aliyev's playbook, and we hope that the international community sees and understands this after everything that has unfolded.
