Who Will Be the New US Ambassador to Armenia? What We Know

The US Senate has confirmed the candidacy of Christina Kvien for the position of US Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia.

Christina Kvien has served as the Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine since 2019. From 2016 to April 2019, she held the positions of Deputy Chief of Mission in Paris and Economic Counselor at the Embassy.

Throughout her diplomatic career, Kvien has held various roles in US diplomatic missions in Thailand, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Russia, and the Philippines. She has also been the Director for EU, Ukraine, and Belarus issues at the US National Security Council.

Born in California, this diplomat holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master's degree in Strategic Studies.

Since February 19, 2019, the position of US Ambassador to Armenia has been held by Lynne Tracy.
