Black Ice and Fog: Road Conditions Update

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed roads across the territory of Armenia.

The roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari are closed.

In Shirak Province and along the Tsilk’ar-Aparan highway, there are patches of black ice. Fog is present in Vardenyats Pass, Aparan, Gyumri cities, and on the Lanjik-Mastara and Gyumri-Spitak roads.

According to information received from the emergency departments of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
