European Union Calls on Azerbaijan to Ensure Free Movement through Lachin Corridor
The European Union has been closely monitoring various developments surrounding the Lachin corridor with serious concern since early December. This is stated in a press release issued by the EU media service.
According to the announcement, the EU calls on the Azerbaijani authorities to ensure freedom and security of movement through the corridor, in accordance with the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020.
"Restrictions on such freedom of movement cause significant distress to the local population and raise humanitarian concerns. Other issues of concern should and can be resolved through dialogue and consultation with the involved parties. The EU reiterates its call for restraint and is ready to support the aforementioned efforts," the statement emphasizes.
