Mirzoyan Meets with President of UN Human Rights Council: Discussion Highlights

The aggressive approaches of Azerbaijan, aimed at the use or threat of force, are the main factors disrupting stability and security in the region. This was stated by the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan during a meeting with Federico Villegas, the President of the UN Human Rights Council and Argentina's Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mirzoyan presented to his interlocutor the situation resulting from Azerbaijan's steps to hinder the normal functioning of the Lachin corridor and the dangers that ensue from it. The discussions also covered the Fourth Global Forum on 'Preventing the Crime of Genocide.'

The Minister emphasized that as a state representing a nation that has experienced the horrors of genocide, Armenia is actively engaged in advancing the agenda of preventing genocide and other crimes against humanity.

Mirzoyan and Villegas spoke about Armenia's activities in the Human Rights Council over the past three years and addressed the close cooperation between Armenia and Argentina, particularly in the field of human rights.
