Artsakh President on Azerbaijani Provocation
Azerbaijan has once again closed the only highway connecting Artsakh to Armenia and the world under false and fabricated pretexts. This was stated by the President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, on his Facebook page.
“Firstly, the aggressive behavior of Azerbaijan is extremely unacceptable for us, as it terrorizes our population and jeopardizes our vital rights and interests. This is an unprecedented challenge for our state and people, and I urge the entire society to unite and remain calm, as one of the aims of the Azerbaijani authorities is to incite internal divisions and panic in Artsakh. The authorities and the people of Artsakh have clear values, principles, and red lines, for the protection of which we make and will make every possible effort, sometimes in ways that are not visible,” Harutyunyan wrote.
“We are confident that the Russian peacekeeping forces, as guarantors of our people's and road safety, will apply all necessary measures to prevent such provocations and breaches of agreements aimed against our people’s vital rights and interests. Other actors in the international community also have important roles to play, as the actions of the Azerbaijani side grossly violate well-known norms of international law, and Azerbaijan seeks to ethnically cleanse and dispossess the population of Artsakh. Artsakh has been and will remain Armenian, through our united and determined efforts, despite all challenges,” Harutyunyan added.
