Moroccan Goalkeeper Bounou Receives Man of the Match Award and Passes It to Teammate
Moroccan national team goalkeeper Yassine Bounou has been named the Man of the Match for the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup against Portugal. The 31-year-old saved three shots and kept a clean sheet (1-0).
Notably, Bounou handed over the Man of the Match award to his teammate Youssef En-Nesyri, whose only goal secured the victory and advanced them to the semi-finals. Bounou has not conceded a goal in three of the four matches at the World Cup; he only allowed one goal against Canada, which was due to a Naif Aguerd own goal (2-1).
Following the historic victory against Portugal, the goalkeeper spent time on the field with his son.
