FIFA Files Case Against Dutch Football Association

FIFA has initiated a case against the Royal Netherlands Football Association due to incidents that occurred during the quarter-finals of the World Cup match against Argentina. This information was reported by ESPN.

The allegations relate to a potential violation of Article 12 of FIFA's Disciplinary Code, which addresses improper conduct by players and officials. The match saw several altercations among players. After the game, representatives from both teams complained about the officiating.

It is worth recalling that on December 9, Argentina defeated the Netherlands (2-2 in regular time, 0-0 in extra time, and 4-3 in penalties) and advanced to the semi-finals, where they will compete against Croatia.

Earlier reports indicated that the Argentine Football Association is also facing disciplinary proceedings due to disrespectful remarks made by forward Lionel Messi and goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez towards Spanish referee Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz.
