Portugal Loses to Morocco

The Morocco national team defeated Portugal in the quarterfinal match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The match, held at the Al Thumama Stadium, ended with a score of 1-0.

The only goal of the game was scored by Moroccan forward Youssef En-Nesyri in the 42nd minute. The assist was provided by Yahya Attiyatallah.

Portugal's forward Cristiano Ronaldo started the match on the bench and entered the field in the 51st minute, replacing Ruben Neves. This match marked the 196th appearance for Ronaldo in his national team career, equalizing the world record for most appearances in international matches.

In recent moments, Moroccan forward Walid Cheddira received two yellow cards in two minutes and was sent off the pitch.

With this victory, Morocco became the first African team to reach the semifinals in World Cup history. To advance to the finals in Qatar, the team will compete against the winner of the England vs. France match, which is set to start at 23:00 Yerevan time.
