Young People in France to Receive Free Condoms, Macron Announces

Young people in France will be able to receive free condoms starting next year as part of efforts to reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections. This announcement was made by French President Emmanuel Macron, according to Reuters.

“Condoms will be free in pharmacies for individuals aged 18 to 25 starting January 1,” Macron said during a youth health event while speaking to reporters.

Health authorities estimate that the rate of sexually transmitted infections in France increased by approximately 30 percent between 2020 and 2021.
