Pristina Strengthens Military Presence in Northern Kosovo, Says Russian Ambassador in Serbia
Pristina is reinforcing its military presence in northern Kosovo. This was stated by the Russian ambassador to Serbia, Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko, in Belgrade. According to Life, he noted, "Pristina is systematically and persistently developing its military presence in northern Kosovo. The situation there is at a very dangerous level. The campaign to intimidate and pressure the Serbian population continues. The aim is to seize northern parts of the region." This information was shared on the diplomatic mission’s Telegram channel.
Botsan-Kharchenko emphasized that all of this is happening with the tacit approval and support of Western countries. In his view, the statements made by representatives of those states claiming they cannot influence Pristina cannot be considered accurate. The ambassador is confident that everything is deliberately leading towards an escalation of conflict.
Meanwhile, as he pointed out, the escalation in Kosovo continues against the backdrop of meetings regarding the Western Balkans and discussions about the importance of stability in the region, yet nothing is being done to resolve the situation, Botsan-Kharchenko stressed. He added that the crisis is necessary for Western countries to exert pressure on Serbia.
