Imprisoned Judge Arusyak Aleksanyan Refuses to Testify
According to the "Joghourd" newspaper, Judge Arusyak Aleksanyan of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction has been in custody for about 1.5 months.
According to the information from "Joghourd," after her arrest, investigators from the National Security Service of Armenia have visited the "Abovyan" penitentiary several times to interrogate Judge Aleksanyan, but she has consistently refused to provide any testimony.
This situation has led to a curious scenario in the criminal proceedings: the accused judge declines to testify in the case, while the investigators continue to make fruitless visits to the detention facility.
It is worth recalling that Judge Arusyak Aleksanyan has been charged with abuse of power in her official duties. In connection with the same case, lawyer Erik Aleksanyan was also arrested on October 21 for supporting Judge Aleksanyan, as well as the judge's assistant, who was later released.
