Ararat Mirzoyan and US Deputy Secretary of State Have a Telephone Conversation
On December 9, Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a telephone conversation with US Deputy Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Mirzoyan and Donfried addressed issues related to regional security and stability.
They exchanged thoughts on the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The readiness of the US to support the peace process in the South Caucasus was emphasized.
During the conversation, they also touched upon the border security and demarcation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the unblocking of transport infrastructure in the region. Emphasizing the efforts by Armenia to establish peace, Minister Mirzoyan noted that the security situation in the region remains fragile and the likelihood of new provocations from Azerbaijan continues to be high.
