We Have Not Lost Our Minds, and We Account for What Nuclear Weapons Are: Putin
Russia understands the dangers of using nuclear weapons, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with members of the Council for Civil Society and Human Rights Development. This was reported by TASS.
“We have not lost our minds, and we account for what nuclear weapons are,” said the Russian President, emphasizing that it is not Russia that initiated discussions about the potential use of such weapons.
“Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss openly stated that she is ready to do it. In response, I had to highlight certain things as well,” the Russian President added.
He noted that Truss's statement went unnoticed by anyone.
“Whereas what we say is immediately highlighted, and those statements start to scare the whole world,” the head of state remarked.
At the same time, Putin stressed that Russia possesses not only nuclear weapons but is also “in a more advanced and modern state than any other nuclear country.”
“Today, this is an obvious fact,” he stated.
However, the President summarized that Russia does not intend to “run around the world waving this weapon like a razor.”
“But, of course, we proceed from the fact that it exists. This is a natural deterrent, not a provocation for conflict expansion, but a deterrent. I hope everyone understands this,” Putin concluded.
