Turkey to Soon Complete Roadmap for Gas Hub Development, Says Minister

Turkey will soon finalize the development of a roadmap for creating a gas hub within its territory. This was stated by Energy Minister Fatih Donmez while addressing the country's parliament, as reported by Energy Today.

According to him, the hub is planned to be located in Thrace. It is worth mentioning that earlier Fatih Donmez, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, announced that Azerbaijan and several other countries have expressed support for Russia's proposed 'gas hub' project in Turkey.

Turkey's presidential spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin had previously stated that his country could become not only a transit country for gas but also a market where gas is traded.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had earlier instructed to develop the matter of creating a gas hub in Turkey in detail and swiftly, specifically regarding how Russia could transfer gas from the Nord Stream to the Black Sea region and Turkey.

Erdoğan also believes that Europe could receive Russian gas through Turkey.
