Management of Bus Stations May Be Transferred to Gagik Tsarukyan's Companies

Management of the "Central," "Northern," and "Sasuntsi Davit" bus stations may be transferred to the companies of former MP Gagik Tsarukyan. This information is reported by "Hetq," noting that the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure does not deny the information.

We submitted a written inquiry to the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, requesting data on investors who have applied to the ministry to take on the concession management of the bus stations. At the same time, we also asked to confirm or deny whether Gagik Tsarukyan's companies have applied to the ministry to manage the bus stations.

In response to our inquiries, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Armen Simonian, recalled that on October 1, a second meeting of the "Investment Committee" was held under the leadership of the Prime Minister. During that time, the investment program to hand over the closed joint-stock company "Hayavtobusyaran" to concession management was also discussed.

“As a result of the discussion, it was decided to carry out a technical and economic study of the program. Currently, in accordance with the requirements of the RA legislation, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia is undertaking work to organize a tender for the selection of an organization to carry out the technical-economic study of the program. A decision regarding the feasibility of handing over "Hayavtobusyaran" CJSC for concession management will be made based on the results of the technical and economic study,” stated Deputy Minister Armen Simonian.

We attempted to clarify the intention of companies belonging to Gagik Tsarukyan to take over the bus stations under concession management with Tsarukyan's press secretary Iveta Tonoyan. However, she did not respond to our calls.

According to official data, the plan to hand over "Hayavtobusyaran" CJSC for concession management is estimated at 5 billion 848 million drams. The program includes the reconstruction of 26 bus station complexes owned by "Hayavtobusyaran" CJSC and the construction of a new bus station in Yerevan.
