Street Closures Due to Eurovision: Police Announce Actions
To ensure the safety of participants at the opening ceremony of the "Children's Eurovision-2022" international song competition and the lighting of the holiday tree in Republic Square, streets leading to Republic Square will be closed starting from 15:00 on December 5.
Specifically, the following streets will be closed:
- Tigran Mets Avenue starting from the Tigran Mets Avenue-Khndzoresk intersection
- Nalbandyan Street from Sakharov Square
- Abovyan Street from the Abovyan-Pushkin intersection
- Amiryang Street from the Amiryang-Zakyan intersection
- Vazgen Sargsyan Street from Shahumyan Square
On December 10 and 11, during the competition days, starting from 12:00, Athens Street and Tsitsernakaberd Highway will be closed periodically.
As parking will be prohibited in the area adjacent to the Sports and Concert Complex on December 10 and 11, attendees of the "Children's Eurovision" will be allowed to park their vehicles in Brazil Square and nearby parking lots.
Buses will transport visitors of the international song competition free of charge from both Brazil Square and the "Barekamutyun" metro station to the Sports and Concert Complex.
Both in Republic Square and at the Sports and Concert Complex, the police will check citizens and their belongings using metal detectors. We ask for the understanding and patience of the public.
