Protests in Tbilisi in Support of Saakashvili
Supporters of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili held a march in the central streets of Tbilisi.
It has been reported that members of the opposition "United National Movement" gathered with their supporters near the office of the ruling "Georgian Dream" party, demanding Saakashvili be transferred to a foreign clinic for treatment.
To ensure order, patrol police units are on duty.
"Today, there will be no political messages or demands; this is a rally of solidarity," said Levan Khabeishvili, a member of the "United National Movement," to reporters.
Earlier, Saakashvili's lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze had stated that the political figure had asked his supporters to refrain from political campaigning during the rally.
