Macron Wants to Speak with Putin: French Leader Reveals Discussion Topics
French President Emmanuel Macron has stated in an interview with TF1 that he intends to discuss issues related to civil nuclear energy in Ukraine with Vladimir Putin, following a conversation with the Director General of the IAEA.
"I plan to speak with President Putin after my conversation with the IAEA Director General and discuss, in particular, the situation regarding civil nuclear energy in Ukraine," said Macron.
In turn, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti that Vladimir Putin does not currently have a scheduled phone call with his French counterpart.
Russian military forces began launching missile strikes on Ukraine's infrastructure starting October 10, just two days after an explosion on the Crimean bridge, which Moscow believes was orchestrated by Ukrainian security forces. Following the shelling on November 15, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that nearly half of the country’s energy system was already out of service.
