Brazil's Team Doctor on Neymar's Injury
Brazil's forward Neymar may not recover from his injury in time for the Round of 16 match against South Korea at the 2022 World Cup.
“Regarding Neymar and Alex Sandro, we still have 72 hours to see if we can count on them for the next game. We have the opportunity to take everything slowly and wait until they can return. They have not yet started working with the ball on the field. It is important to see how they will cope with the loading. Depending on that, the conditions for their return may change,” said Rodrigo Lasmar, Brazil's team doctor, as quoted by Globo Esporte.
Neymar sustained an injury in the first round match against Serbia (2:0). He has also shown symptoms of a viral infection. Neymar has missed two matches in the group stage.
The Round of 16 match between Brazil and South Korea will take place on December 5, starting at 23:00 Yerevan time.
