“We All Realize It Is Not Easy”: Riker on Armenian-Azerbaijani Dialogue
Philippe Riker, Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations, has announced that the United States is engaged and supporting direct negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan at the highest level, represented by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.
“We are committed to ensuring a peaceful future in the South Caucasus region. We deeply believe that ongoing direct dialogue (that is, not military action but diplomacy) is crucial for resolving issues and achieving comprehensive, lasting peace and prosperity. We all realize it is not easy, but I want to reiterate Secretary Blinken’s remarks during the meeting with Foreign Ministers Mirzoyan and Bayramov. He said that the United States is committed to doing everything it can to support your efforts in establishing sustainable peace,” Riker stated.
