Peskov: The U.S. Still Does Not Recognize Russia's New Territories
The United States still does not recognize Russia's new territories, which significantly complicates the search for mutual ground in discussions, stated Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian President. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, U.S. President Joe Biden announced that he does not plan to engage with Vladimir Putin in the near future, but acknowledges the possibility if the Russian president shows "interest" in ending the conflict in Ukraine. At the same time, the American leader emphasized that further communications with the Russian president could happen only after consultations with NATO partners.
“The United States still does not recognize the new territories that are part of the Russian Federation. And, of course, this significantly complicates the search for any mutual basis. Bases that could be subjects for reciprocal discussions,” Peskov told reporters.
