Tragedy Strikes as Crocodile Devours Eight-Year-Old Boy in Costa Rica Before Parents' Eyes

A crocodile has devoured an eight-year-old boy in Costa Rica before his parents' eyes, as reported by the New York Post. The tragic incident occurred when the schoolboy was playing near a river close to his home. The boy's name was Julio Fernandez.

The crocodile attacked the child while he was playing in the water. His parents rushed to the scene upon hearing his screams but were unable to help, as the crocodile dragged the boy underwater.

“The hardest part for my wife was watching how the crocodile swam away with our son’s body,” the boy's father recounted.

A month later, a local hunter shot the crocodile at the site of the incident. When locals opened the predator's stomach, they discovered strands of hair and bones believed to belong to Julio.

Now, the grieving parents plan to move their four children to Nicaragua to protect them from crocodiles that roam Costa Rica.
