Technical Delegations Meet at Armenian-Turkish Border
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's spokesperson, İbrahim Kalın, has addressed the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey, as well as Armenia and Azerbaijan. Kalın stated, "Earlier this month, a meeting of technical delegations took place at the Turkish-Armenian border, on both Turkish and Armenian territories. There is a bridge there; work has been carried out to renovate it and prepare it technically for road control, customs control, and similar procedures that will be implemented after the border opens.
The work was conducted from both sides, and our counterparts even crossed over to the other side and dined with them. From this perspective, it can be confidently said that a positive process is underway. In the near future, it may be possible to allow citizens of third countries and individuals with diplomatic passports to travel,” İbrahim Kalın said during a live broadcast on Turkey's A Haber channel.
Kalın also noted that incidents between Armenia and Azerbaijan have ceased, the situation has calmed down, and negotiations have resumed and are proceeding in the right direction. According to Kalın, the simultaneous normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and between Armenia and Turkey will proceed more smoothly.
