VIDEO: Police Use Tear Gas and Brutally Assault 17-Year-Old Boy; Details Emerge
On November 26, several citizens in the Lori region were brutally assaulted by officers of the Patrol Service. In an interview with "Ankhin +3" television, a victim of the incident recounted that they were at an auto service workshop at the time. "I saw them spraying gas on the kid; 3-4 people were hitting him on the back, 3-4 men were beating the kid while he was on the ground. After that, I don’t remember my actions—what I did, how I did it... The only thing I remember is that around 25-30 people were spraying gas and hitting him. The kid fell into a coma; he was not well..."
The victims, affected by the shock from the tear gas and acute pain, recall very little. The minor, who has health issues, reported that he was also beaten by officers in the vehicle while being transported to the police station.
The incident was also addressed by Kristine Vardanyan, a member of the Armenian National Assembly from the "Armenia" faction. According to the citizen who reported the incident, it occurred after the Patrol Service attempted to clear the road for Nikol Pashinyan’s convoy and got into an argument with an elderly citizen who merely asked them to speak to him with respect.
"The son of the elderly citizen intervened in the discussion, after which a larger number of Patrol Service personnel (more than ten) intervened, who, according to the citizen, exercised brutal violence against civilians, also using tear gas. As a result of the violence, two citizens, including the underage grandson of the elderly person, were hospitalized with multiple injuries, including fractures. According to the citizen, footage captured by cameras recording the incident was also destroyed today, and they were advised not to speak out about the incident in any way."
A criminal investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
