According to reports, the municipality has already spent at least $650,000 on Yerevan's New Year aesthetic, including the installation of Christmas trees, decorations, and lighting.

Public-political figure Edgar Ghazaryan, addressing this issue at a press conference, stated: "The contracts have been signed through a single-source procurement process, no competition has been announced. There is a direct corruption risk; they want to give money to whom they want and they are giving it. With $650,000, how many defense facilities could be built for the soldiers? Our soldiers are left unprotected and unarmed at the border, yet all the government walls have been illuminated, and lights have been hung... Moreover, I am referring only to the expenses that have been publicly disclosed, as additional expenditures are still being incurred."
