UN: Video of Executed Russian POWs Likely Authentic
The United Nations has deemed the video of the execution of Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine to be authentic. This statement was made by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, as reported by Reuters.
According to the Commissioner, the UN has conducted a preliminary analysis of the footage showing the executions of POWs, concluding that "there is a high probability that the footage is genuine."
Previously, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Gennady Gatilov, stated in Geneva that Russia has yet to receive any response from international human rights organizations regarding appeals related to the execution of Russian POWs by Ukrainian armed forces.
It is worth noting that on November 18, a video surfaced online showing the bodies of Russian POWs executed by Ukrainian soldiers. Reports indicate that the Russian soldiers had surrendered before being shot.
