Turkey Supplies Laser Missiles to Ukraine Before American HIMARS

Days ago, media outlets reported that the Ukrainian army has received a shipment of weapons from Turkey, specifically the TRLG-230 and Sungur IIR missiles. According to Israel Defense, Turkey has supplied Ukraine with several dozen ultra-precise laser-guided TRLG-230 missiles, manufactured in Turkey's Roketsan factories, designed to hit targets from a distance of 20 to 70 kilometers.

The publication notes that the accuracy of these missiles is achieved through the combined use of GPS navigation and laser guidance. At least 50 laser-guided missiles have been supplied to Ukraine. According to the ORYX blog, about 200 missiles have been delivered.

Operationally, these two types of missiles can be combined on the battlefield, with the use of one potentially correcting the flight of the other, thereby increasing the effectiveness of their use, the Israeli publication points out. Israel Defense highlights that the most interesting aspect is that Turkey has become the first country to supply such weapons to Ukraine, even before the American HIMARS missiles.
