Shooting in Krymsk Linked to Divorce Proceedings

A shooting took place today on Krymsk street in the Krasnodar region, sparked by the divorce proceedings of the shooter, Vladimir Zhirov, and his wife, Galina. This has been reported by a KP-Kuban correspondent citing their own sources.

Currently, this is considered the main hypothesis of the incident. “There wasn’t a single judge in the town who hadn’t dealt with him regarding this issue,” explained a source familiar with the situation to KP-Kuban.

According to the Krymsk regional court's affairs cabinet, his trial with his son, Yuri, and ex-wife, Galina, had concluded at 10 a.m. this morning. The plaintiff was Vladimir, who demanded the return of half of the apartment purchased by his son, which he believed was with his own money. However, the court rejected his claim.

“Claims regarding the apartment were filed against the son, but the judge saw no grounds to satisfy the claim,” stated the unified press service of the Krasnodar region courts to KP-Kuban.

It was noted that the divorce process has been dragging on since 2017. The shooter has flooded the local courts with claims, but none of his lawsuits have been upheld.

The investigation is determining the circumstances of the incident and how the assailant obtained the weapon.
