Armenian Trucks to Be Allowed to Resume Journey on Tbilisi Bypass Road in a Timely Manner

Representatives of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, along with the chargé d'affaires of the Armenian Embassy in Georgia, Harutun Hayrapetyan, met with drivers of Armenian trucks bound for Russia on the Tbilisi bypass road. The trucks were halted due to congestion at the Upper Lars checkpoint.

This information was published on the ministry's Facebook page. “During the meeting, the issues and concerns raised by the drivers were recorded, and work is continuing towards their resolution,” the statement reads.

It is noted that, according to current information, trucks currently stopped on the Tbilisi bypass road will be allowed to resume their journey in succession in a timely manner.

It is important to remind that following the explosion on the Crimean bridge, increased control on the Russian side at the 'Upper Lars' checkpoint has led to lengthy queues, as relevant services are inspecting vehicles more thoroughly and for longer periods.

Additionally, this road is the only land route connecting Armenia and Russia.
