After the War, the Armenian Authorities Hit Records in Pro-Russian Sentiment: "Hraparak"

"Hraparak" newspaper reports: "On November 23, only Russian President Vladimir Putin was personally welcomed by Nikol Pashinyan upon his arrival in Yerevan, while the other leaders were greeted by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.

During Putin's previous visit to Armenia in 2019, a heated discussion ensued regarding the fact that Pashinyan did not go to the airport to welcome him. At that time, government officials and their supporters rejoiced at Pashinyan's 'brave' step, declaring that, unlike their predecessors, their government was not a slave to Russia.

However, since the war, the Armenian authorities have set records in pro-Russian sentiment. During the meeting in Sochi, Pashinyan suggested extending the mandate of the Russian peacekeepers stationed in Artsakh for an indefinite period, stating various timeframes of 20 years, 15 years, and 5 years. Just a few days after the meeting, he announced that he had accepted the Russian-proposed version of the peace agreement back in January 2021."
