Video: We Resolved the Issue in Kazakhstan Overnight, Pashinyan's Remark to CSTO Members
In the past two years, CSTO member country Armenia has faced aggression from Azerbaijan at least three times. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
"It is saddening that Armenia's membership in the CSTO did not deter Azerbaijan from resorting to aggressive actions, and moreover, the fact that, in essence, we have not been able to make a decision in response to Azerbaijan's aggression against Armenia up to this day. These facts cause significant damage to the reputation of the CSTO both domestically and internationally, and I consider this the main failure of Armenia's presidency in the CSTO. I can say the same about the escalation of the situation on our allies Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan's borders," noted Pashinyan.
At the same time, he emphasized the successful actions taken. “I mean the CSTO's operational response to President Tokayev's request for support in restoring legality and order in Kazakhstan this January. In this case, we solved the problem overnight, which allowed Kazakhstan to avoid internal chaos,” said Pashinyan.
Taking the opportunity, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan congratulated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on his reelection as President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“Friends, today’s agenda is full. I hope we can agree on our allied approaches and achieve organized collective cooperation on relevant issues,” concluded Pashinyan.
