Lavrov to Arrive in Armenia Today: Details

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will arrive in Yerevan today for a two-day visit. He will participate in the joint session of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers, and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), writes 1lurer.am.

It is expected that the session will discuss the military-political situation in the regions of collective security and the activities of the organization. The parties will also address a package of decisions related to foreign policy, military, and counter-terrorism cooperation within the CSTO framework, as well as strengthening and further developing the collective security system.

The organization's press secretary, Vladimir Zainetdinov, stated that several important political statements are planned to be adopted during the session, including statements by the foreign ministers of CSTO member states on strengthening the international and regional security architecture and other issues.

In addition, according to Zainetdinov, the parties will approve several documents that will be submitted for the confirmation of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
