"I’m sitting in a coat and with three cups of hot water": Official in Germany complains, users respond

Renate Künast, co-chair of the German Green Party, complained on Twitter about the cold temperature in her office.  "I’m sitting in the office with a coat and three cups of hot water to warm my hands. I suspect the room temperature is 19 degrees. Next week, I’ll come with a blanket, heater, and hat," she wrote.

In response to her tweet, Künast received numerous negative comments from German citizens. Users urged to lower the temperature not only in the office but also at the co-chair's home. Künast's tweet garnered almost five thousand angry replies: "It’s nice to feel what you do to people" (to which Künast referred to the user as an egoist), "Long live the transition to green energy sources," and "Well, you can be cold because you support green energy. This is almost an anachronistic election campaign. Yellow card," one comment read. "Dear Ms. Künast, right now, I’m only heating the bathroom at home. Unfortunately, I don’t feel sorry for you," another user commented.
