British Prime Minister Meets Zelensky and Promises 50 Million Pounds

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his first visit to Kyiv as head of government, promising 50 million pounds in support.

“From the first days of the war, Ukraine and Great Britain have been the strongest allies,” Zelensky said after the meeting. The aid package is intended to counter air attacks.

The 50 million pounds worth of defensive assistance includes 125 anti-aircraft defense systems and technology to combat drones, including dozens of radars and anti-drone electronic equipment.

Sunak also announced that Great Britain would be expanding its training offer for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, sending experienced military medics and engineers to provide specialized support in the region.
